About the Business

Transaction Banking (GTB) is a key growth business within TDS, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact with top‑tier organizations. We deliver innovative transaction banking solutions and treasury advisory services that support large and complex liquidity, payments, and ledger needs. As macroeconomic conditions, technology innovation, interest rate environments, and foreign exchange dynamics continue to evolve, GTB business lines are constantly advancing to provide optimal account, liquidity, ledger, and payment solutions for our clients

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly accomplished Director, Business Management (Payments + Transaction Banking) to provide strategic business leadership across our Transaction Banking, Payments, and Ledger domains. This role is ideal for a senior business management leader who thrives at the intersection of finance, operations, risk, and technology, and who can bring structure, clarity, and governance to complex, highly integrated Transaction Banking ecosystems.

This leader will own end-to-end business management for largescale payments and transaction banking platforms, ensuring financial integrity, ledger accuracy, regulatory alignment, and operational resilience across high-volume, mission critical flows. While not a hands-on technologist, the Director must demonstrate strong technical acumen and the ability to partner closely with engineering, architecture, and product teams to translate complex change into sustainable business and financial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Business & Financial Management Leadership

  • Own end-to-end business management for enterprise payments platforms, partnering with Finance, Operations, Risk, and Technology to ensure accurate ledger posting, settlement, reconciliation, and financial controls across complex, high-volume payment flows.

  • Drive financial integrity and performance for payments products, with accountability for general ledger oversight, exception management, balance substantiation, audit readiness, and alignment with accounting standards and regulatory expectations.

  • Lead business management and financial governance for transaction banking capabilities, including cash management, clearing, and settlement, ensuring robust controls and minimized operational risk across client and internal flows.

  • Act as a trusted finance and controls steward, translating product, operational, and technology changes into clear financial impacts, ledger treatment, and scalable operating models.

Program & Integration Leadership

  • Own the end-to-end integrated program roadmap for the Ledger domains, ensuring dependencies are clearly identified, sequenced, and managed.

  • Provide oversight of cross platform integrations, ensuring systems, data flows, and interfaces are aligned to support business outcomes and regulatory requirements.

  • Proactively identify technical, financial, and operational risks, establishing mitigation strategies and driving timely resolution in partnership with senior stakeholders.

  • Establish and maintain strong governance and reporting frameworks, providing transparency into progress, risks, and dependencies for executive leadership.

Cross Functional Influence & Execution

  • Serve as a critical bridge between business and technology, translating complex integration and financial requirements into executable plans.

  • Partner closely with engineering, architecture, product, operations, and risk leaders to ensure disciplined execution and end-to-end alignment.

  • Ensure delivery of key milestones with a focus on quality, scalability, control, and long-term sustainability.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in payments, transaction banking, business management, and/or technical program management within complex financial services environments.

  • Demonstrated expertise in ledger integrity, financial controls, settlement, reconciliation, and regulatory alignment for large‑scale payment platforms.

  • Strong technical fluency, including understanding of system integrations, APIs, data flows, and platform dependencies, with the ability to engage credibly with architects and engineers.

  • Proven success leading cross domain, enterprise scale initiatives, balancing business priorities, financial rigor, and technology execution.

  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to operate effectively at senior leadership levels.

  • Program or project management certifications (PMP, PgMP, SAFe, or similar) are considered an asset.
