Position Overview
We’re looking for a Principal Program Manager, Strategic Programs to lead high‑impact, cross‑functional initiatives at the intersection of product, marketing, and business strategy. This role serves as a critical connector between Autodesk’s long‑term product vision and the marketing execution that brings it to life—translating strategic bets into clear plans, aligning stakeholders across a complex, matrixed organization, and driving programs from ambiguity to measurable outcomes.
In this role, you’ll own and orchestrate enterprise‑level strategic product initiatives, including AI, platform, and portfolio go‑to‑market programs. This is not a traditional program management role. It requires a strategic thinker who can move quickly, influence without authority, bring structure to complex problems, and deliver results in a fast‑evolving environment.
Responsibilities
Strategic Program Leadership
Own end‑to‑end execution of Autodesk’s highest‑priority strategic product marketing programs—from definition and alignment through delivery and impact measurement
Lead complex, cross‑functional programs across Marketing, Product, Sales, Finance, and Operations; influence without authority to drive clarity, alignment, and decisions
Translate executive strategy into clear, actionable program plans with milestones, owners, dependencies, and success metrics
Anticipate and manage risks, blockers, and interdependencies; escalate and resolve with urgency
Build and scale program management systems and dashboards that provide leaders real‑time visibility into progress and outcomes
AI Go‑to‑Market & Emerging Initiatives
Lead cross‑functional AI go‑to‑market initiatives, bringing new products and capabilities to market across industries
Monitor market trends and competitive dynamics to inform priorities and strategic recommendations
Stand up net‑new programs for emerging business priorities—defining scope, forming teams, establishing operating cadence, and driving results
Portfolio & Platform Strategy
Drive portfolio rationalization initiatives, translating product decisions into clear go‑to‑market motions and customer‑facing strategies
Facilitate cross‑industry alignment to ensure portfolio decisions are cohesive, customer‑centric, and strategically sound
Develop frameworks and evaluation criteria to enable consistent, data‑informed portfolio decision‑making
Partner with industry marketing leaders to activate portfolio strategies through campaigns, content, and sales enablement
Minimum Qualifications
10+ years of experience in program management, strategic operations, or related roles within marketing, technology, or SaaS organizations
Proven track record leading large‑scale, cross‑functional programs from ambiguity through execution
Excellent executive communication and storytelling skills; able to synthesize complexity into clear narratives
Strong facilitation skills, including leading senior leaders through complex, high‑stakes decisions
Proficiency with program and collaboration (e.g., Airtable, Smartsheet, Confluence, Google Workspace)
Ability to operate effectively within large, matrixed organizations (5,000+ employees)
Experience leveraging AI‑enabled tools to improve program efficiency and insights (Co-pilot, Chat GPT and other tools)
Experience with portfolio management, product lifecycle, or rationalization initiatives
BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience
Preferred Qualifications
Strong strategic thinking paired with operational rigor; able to operate at both the big‑picture and execution levels
Exceptional ability to influence senior stakeholders without direct authority
Demonstrated success creating structure, frameworks, and operating models in ambiguous environments
Experience in B2B technology marketing, particularly in AEC, manufacturing, or media & entertainment
Familiarity with AI/ML product positioning and go‑to‑market strategy
