SUMMARY
The Business Unit (BU) Technical Specialist is a customer-facing technical resource dedicated to supporting and growing D&H’s Ubiquiti business across networking, physical security, wired and wireless infrastructure, fiber, and identity-based network management solutions. This role combines technical expertise with strong communication and commercial acumen to deliver an exceptional partner and customer experience.
Initially, the role is primarily reactive, responding to inbound technical and solution-oriented inquiries from D&H customers and internal stakeholders (up to 100%). Over time, the position is expected to evolve to a blended model (approximately 75% inbound support / 25% outbound activities), incorporating proactive partner enablement, solution development, and business growth initiatives.
The Technical Specialist serves as a trusted advisor to D&H partners, internal sales teams, and vendor stakeholders. They must be comfortable articulating technical architectures and translating them into clear, value-driven business outcomes for audiences ranging from non-technical sales professionals to IT administrators and executive leadership.
This individual is expected to represent both Ubiquiti’s value proposition and D&H’s distributor value-add, positioning D&H as a strategic partner rather than a transactional supplier.

• Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical guidance, including architecture design, product selection, configuration considerations, and best practices.
• Support internal D&H sales teams by translating customer requirements into technically sound, scalable solutions.
• Participate in post-sale issue resolution, acting as a technical liaison between customers, D&H internal teams, and the vendor when required.
• Successfully de-escalate complex or sensitive technical situations through strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management.
Solution Enablement & Training
• Deliver technical and solution-oriented training to D&H internal teams and partners, including formal presentations, workshops, and informal enablement sessions.
• Develop and maintain a working knowledge of Ubiquiti’s product portfolio, platforms, management tools, and roadmaps.
• Support certification attainment and ongoing technical readiness for D&H resources aligned to the business unit.
• Create and deliver clear, concise explanations of complex technical concepts tailored to varied technical skill levels.
Vendor & Market Alignment
• Act as a key technical interface between D&H and Ubiquiti, ensuring alignment on architecture, positioning, and go-to-market strategy.
• Provide structured feedback to D&H leadership and the vendor based on partner input, competitive landscape, and observed market trends.
• Assist in defining and refining solution use cases, reference architectures, and positioning aligned to market demand.
Business Development (Progressive Responsibility)
• As the role matures, participate in proactive partner engagement, including solution reviews, opportunity identification, and technical discovery.
• Support outbound business development initiatives by articulating the technical and commercial advantages of Ubiquiti solutions distributed through D&H.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and product teams to support growth initiatives and campaigns.
