WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Campus Security Officer plays a vital role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for students, staff, faculty, and visitors. Officers at our Campus facilities conduct regular foot patrols, monitor CCTV cameras, provide first aid, enforce safety regulations, respond to incidents, and provide assistance to the campus community.
- Patrol campus buildings, facilities, parking lots, and surrounding areas on foot or by vehicle to deter and detect unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access points to ensure only authorized individuals enter restricted areas.
- Respond promptly to alarms, calls for service, disturbances, medical emergencies, fire incidents, or security breaches.
- Conduct routine safety inspections of doors, windows, lighting, fire extinguishers, and emergency equipment.
- Enforce campus rules, regulations, and policies in a professional and respectful manner.
- Provide escorts for students, staff, or visitors when requested to ensure personal safety.
- Investigate suspicious activities, safety hazards, accidents, thefts, or other incidents, and complete detailed written reports.
- Monitor and operate security systems, cameras, and communication equipment.
- Assist with crowd control and traffic management during special events, emergencies, or evacuations.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with students, faculty, and staff to support a safe and inclusive campus community.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement, emergency services, and other campus departments as needed.
- Participate in ongoing training related to emergency response, de-escalation, and safety procedures.

- $500 Bonus for Officer with Valid Security License
*Bonus is subject to terms, including a 6 month minimum commitment to full-time work in this position.*

YOU’RE A GREAT FIT IF YOU
- A Valid BC Security License is required
- Class 5 Drivers license is required
- Intermediate First Aid (OFA 2) is considered an asset
- Provide exceptional customer service, with an exceptional smile.
- Have strong communication skills.
- Are comfortable standing or being outdoors for long periods of time.
- Have prior security experience or are eager to learn more.
