Summary:
A truck driver is responsible for transporting goods and materials from one location to another using a commercial truck, delivering asphalt, aggregate materials, or other supplies to job sites. In this role you will be part of the utility crew raising manhole covers and water valve tops, typically hauling waste asphalt away and bringing new asphalt back to site for repaving.
• Safely operate a single axle dump truck to haul asphalt, aggregates, and other materials to designated job sites.
• Ensure timely deliveries to crews, plants, and other operational locations.
• Conduct safe loading and unloading of materials.
• Perform daily pre trip and post trip inspections to ensure the truck meets safety, cleanliness, and regulatory standards.
• Communicate regularly with the Superintendent, Foreman and/or Dispatch for daily instructions and schedule updates.
• Complete all required documentation, including logs, inspection reports, and delivery records.
• Follow all company policies, safety regulations, and procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized truck.
• Valid Class 3 Driver’s Licence with Air Brake Endorsement (mandatory).
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience operating commercial trucks (dump truck experience an asset).
• Strong knowledge of safe driving practices and applicable provincial regulations.
• Ability to perform manual labour duties such as tarp operation, light shovelling and assisting the crew on the ground as required).
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Clean Driver’s Abstract.
