Systems Administrator

MatchBox Consulting Group is currently seeking a Systems Administrator for a 3-month contract role (with the possibility of extension) with a client of ours located in Victoria. Candidates must be local to Victoria (or Vancouver Island) with the ability to work in downtown Victoria.

Responsibilities/Requirements:

• 3+ years of extensive experience in Systems Administration
• Must have Linux/Windows servers exposure
• NetBackup, HPE, RHEL 8.10-8.7, VMware, Windows 2016
• Master Server, Media Server, Ops Center Analytics, Robotic Tape Library, Hardware, Firmware
• Services tickets for ad-hoc backup and restore requests
• File level restores for internal customers
• Pausing/resuming backup jobs during systems upgrades, patching etc.
• Working with DBAs for their RMAN backup jobs
• Removing decommissioned targets from backup policies
• Attending the Atrium datacenter in Victoria to rotate data tapes as needed
• Liaising with offsite storage vendor for storing/retrieving archive tapes (monthly basis)
• Attends team standups on Monday, Wednesday, Friday mornings
• Version upgrades
• Maintaining the system
• Certified Linux Backup Administrator
• Certified RedHat Administrator
