What you will be doing :
Month-End Close & Reporting
Own and manage the month-end close process to deliver accurate financial statements within established deadlines.
Prepare monthly reporting packages for the CFO, leadership team, and board.
Ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled and supported.
Inventory & COGS Accounting
Oversee inventory reconciliations with co-manufacturers.
Track and allocate landed costs (freight, duties, brokerage).
Ensure accurate COGS reporting and margin analysis.
Accounts Receivable & Payable Oversight
Oversee AR / deductions process; review significant deductions and ensure trade spend accruals are accurate.
Review AP and payroll for accuracy and compliance with policies.
Compliance & Audit
Manage year-end financial review process, preparing schedules and liaising with external CPA firm.
Ensure compliance with Canadian and U.S. tax regulations (sales tax, corporate filings).
Process Improvement
Identify and implement process improvements to improve efficiency, controls, and scalability.
Support ERP / accounting system enhancements (NetSuite).
Business Support
Provide ad hoc reporting & analysis to support pricing decisions, margin optimization, and cost control initiatives.
Partner with operations, sales, and supply chain teams to provide financial insights.
What you must have :
CPA designation (or equivalent) required.
Minimum 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory / lead accounting role.
Experience in CPG, manufacturing, or distribution preferred.
Experience with NetSuite is an asset.
Prior exposure to U.S. retail / distributor trade terms, deductions, and promotional accruals an asset.
Salary / Rate Range : $100,000.00-$120,000.00
