Math/Stats Tutoring Position

Position Summary

• Assist students in one-on-one tutorial sessions in mathematics and/or statistics. Statistics is particularly required, as is a background in economics.
• Aid students with problem solving strategies.
• Provide support with use of principles and formulas.
• Identify and record common problem areas for the purpose of developing support services and reference materials.
• Develop effective mentoring approaches through attending training sessions, shadowing other tutors, and participating in meetings.
• Zoom or in person.
• Must be willing to run a Math workshop during the term.

Position Requirements

• The preferred background of the applicant is in mathematics, statistics, economics, accounting, engineering, or the natural sciences.
• Graduate student and senior undergraduate students will be considered.
• Successful applicants will be mentored in instruction of mathematics and/or statistics.
