Software Engineer I (Hybrid Work Schedule)

Overview

We are looking for a Junior Software Engineer to assist in implementing solutions across our Upstream Planning portfolio. This role involves supporting technical tasks, learning best practices, and collaborating with senior team members. The overall objective is to contribute to initiatives that improve deliverable quality and performance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Upstream Planning solutions in an Agile environment under guidance from senior team members.
• Follow established architectural standards, best practices, and reusable components across the application portfolio.
• Learn and apply modern technologies and frameworks.
• Support implementation of technical solutions while adhering to coding standards and quality guidelines.
• Assist with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices to support the development process.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, identify risks, and proactively resolve bottlenecks.
• Maintain proper documentation and ensure compliance with guidelines.
• And other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience developing software applications.
• Working knowledge of .NET, RESTful APIs, and object-oriented programming concepts.
• Understanding of relational databases.
• Understanding in DevOps practices and Agile methodologies.
• Basic understanding of cloud concepts and platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS)
• Basic understanding of APIs and microservices architecture
• Basic understanding of security protocols and encryption standards
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with AI coding tools
• Interest in AI/ML technologies or intelligent systems.
• Basic understanding of Model Context Protocol (MCP) or similar extensibility patterns
• Familiarity with front-end technologies, React, is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of upstream oil and gas domain

Additional Details

• Background Check: The successful candidate will need to successfully complete the following clearances: Criminal History Check, Education Verification, Employment Verification, Driver’s License Verification and passport/ID validation.
• Visa Sponsorship: Employment eligibility to work with Quorum Software in Canada is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for this position.
