Job description
Title: Nurse Practitioner - Transitional Health Status: Full-Time Location: West Bedford, Nova Scotia, Canada Relocation: Assistance Available Salary: Salary to be discussed with a Bryant Staffing Solutions Recruiter. Visa Support: TN1 visa support available Position Overview: Join an innovative healthcare organization as a Nurse Practitioner in a cutting-edge transitional care facility located in West Bedford, Nova Scotia. This modern, purpose-built center provides short-term care to adult patients transitioning from acute care settings back to their homes or communities. It is not a hospital or long-term care facility. This full-time role places Nurse Practitioners in a leadership position as the Most Responsible Health Care Provider (MRP), offering a rare opportunity to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care in a highly collaborative and supportive environment. What You'll Be Doing: Act as the primary healthcare provider for patients in transitional care. Independently assess, diagnose, prescribe, and treat within your legislated scope. Lead clinical teams on-site, providing direct supervision and clinical expertise. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including restorative care professionals, nurses, and allied health staff. Create care plans aligned with patient and family goals to help patients return home or to their communities. Qualifications: Education: Master's Degree in Nursing with Nurse Practitioner Certification. Licensure: Eligible for registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing. Experience: 2-3 years as a Nurse Practitioner preferred (acute or rehabilitative care ideal). Practice Setting: Must be comfortable with hands-on care in an on-site setting. Note: Candidates with Pediatric NP backgrounds cannot be considered due to licensing limitations. Key Skills Required: Advanced clinical decision-making and diagnostic ability. Leadership and shift supervisory capabilities. Strong teamwork within an interdisciplinary care environment. Work Schedule & Setting: Schedule: Monday to Friday, 08:00-16:00 Patient Load: Approximately 22-23 patients per NP Team: 3 NPs currently on staff, 4 new roles being added On-Call: No on-call requirement at this time Overtime: Paid as per the NSNU Collective Agreement Other Premiums: Shift premiums and other benefits outlined in the NSNU Collective Agreement Facility Perks: Brand-new, purpose-built care center No traffic congestion in West Bedford Free on-site parking Compensation & Benefits: Salary: Unionized wage scale aligned with NS Health (exact rate discussed during interview) Relocation: Reimbursement up to $5,000 CAD with receipts Benefits: Full coverage for medical, dental, vision, mental health services, and virtual healthcare access Pension: Participation in the NSHEPP pension plan (fully transferable from NS Health) Perks: Employee Assistance Program Tuition reimbursement Access to the WorkPerks discount program
