Business Development Engineer

Adecco is currently hiring a full-time certified Professional Engineer (P.Eng) to join our client's team as a Business Development Engineer . In this role you will bring strong experience within the Midstream Oil & Gas sector , along with a demonstrated ability to support commercial growth, evaluate technical concepts, and develop early-stage project scopes.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with the commercial team to assess new development opportunities and contribute to the strategic growth of the Husky Midstream business. Your ability to interpret complex technical issues, communicate clear solutions, and engage effectively with diverse stakeholders will be essential.

Responsibilities:

• Support initial project concept scoping and technical development for midstream infrastructure opportunities.
  
• Provide the commercial team with cost-effective scope alternatives, engineering insights, and conceptual cost estimates.
  
• Assess opportunities for new pipelines, facility expansions, terminals, and infrastructure optimization.
  
• Manage and resolve technical questions related to existing midstream infrastructure.
  
• Coordinate input from Operations, Regulatory, Customer Service, Major Projects, and third-party engineering teams.
  
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders using strong communication and facilitation skills.
  
• Support negotiations with customers and third-party stakeholders by providing technical context and analysis.
  
• Conduct financial and economic evaluations of new projects and commercial initiatives.
  
• Gather and analyze data to inform project feasibility and scope development.
  
• Develop creative solutions, compare development scenarios, and recommend preferred options.
  
• Prepare conceptual presentations, schematics, sketches, and spreadsheets to convey project scope.
  
• Draft early-phase technical documents including Scopes of Work, Project Charters, and required project delivery system materials.
  
• Collect, format, and analyze technical and operational data.
  
• Develop multiple conceptual solutions and recommend pathways forward.
  
• Produce clear documentation for internal review and cross-functional alignment.
  
• Support the transition of conceptual projects to the Major Projects team for execution.
  

Qualifications:

• Certified P.Eng, or eligible for registration with APEGA.
  
• Minimum 3 years as a Professional Engineer.
  
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the Oil & Gas sector, with a strong preference for midstream experience.
  
• Experience with early project development, process engineering fundamentals, and midstream operations.
  
• Familiarity with pipeline hydraulic simulators such as Synergi (SPS).
  
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  
• Understanding of economic decision analysis.
  
• Strong organization and data management skills.
  
• Ability to work in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities and tight deadlines.
  
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
  
• Comfortable working independently and in multi-disciplinary teams.
  
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to field locations.

• Mu st be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
