Business Continuity Consultant (Operational Resilience)

Our client is looking for a hands-on Business Continuity professional (3–5 years) to support a mature Business Continuity & Operational Resilience program, with a strong emphasis on regulatory alignment under OSFI E‑21. This is an onsite consulting role within a highly regulated environment, ideally suited to someone who’s comfortable working across the business to plan, test, document, and coordinate resilience activities.

What You’ll Do

• Support enterprise Business Continuity planning and governance
• Contribute to Operational Resilience activities aligned to OSFI E‑21
• Coordinate and document BC/Resilience testing, exercises, and playbooks
• Maintain artifacts (plans, RTO/RPOs, impact assessments, runbooks)
• Partner with stakeholders across business and technology; drive follow‑ups and remediation
• Help distinguish and align Operational Resilience vs. Operational Risk expectations in practice

What You Bring

• 3–5 years in Business Continuity Management (BCM)
• Exposure to Operational Resilience, ideally with OSFI E‑21 experience
• Experience in financial services or other regulated industries
• Strong grasp of the difference between Operational Resilience and Operational Risk
• Proven ability to manage testing, documentation, and stakeholder coordination

Nice to Have

• Experience with scenario testing, crisis management, or tabletop exercises
• Business Continuity certification (e.g., CBCI, CBCP, MBCI)
• General awareness of Disaster Recovery (DR) concepts

Ideal Profile

You’re a Business Continuity practitioner with practical Operational Resilience exposure. Candidates focused purely on Operational Risk are less relevant unless they’ve directly supported BCM or Operational Resilience work. DR knowledge is beneficial, but this role is oriented toward business continuity / business process resilience, not deep IT DR engineering.
