Canadian Hearing Services (CHS) has an opening for a Hearing Care Counsellor based in Sault Ste. Marie. Reporting to the Manger, Intervening Services, the Hearing Care Counsellor will be responsible for providing individual counselling, support, and case management for eligible Hearing Care Counselling (HCC) clients (age 55 and up and hard of hearing or deaf).
This will be a permanent, full-time position, working Monday – Friday, 9:00 – 5:00
You have excellent administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills including liaising and consulting with other counsellors, agencies, and services to promote the independence and empowerment of clients with acquired hearing loss, so as to enhance daily functioning, safety and social access. You can handle vulnerable situations in a timely manner and can handle a changing environment, with the ability to manage a varied workload with competing priorities and deadlines.
