What can you expect from this position?
Reporting to the Associate Director, Data Products & Emerging Technology, the Manager, Advanced Analytics leads the development and delivery of analytics and AI initiatives that transform Toronto Pearson’s operations, passenger experience, commercial performance, and long-term planning. This role exists to convert complex business challenges into data driven solutions—ranging from forecasting and optimization to machine learning and decision intelligence products.
You will mentor a high performing team of data scientists and analysts, drive adoption of modern Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) and responsible AI practices and shape the long-term data product roadmap that enables Toronto Pearson to become a truly data driven organization.
As Manager, Advanced Analytics, you will:
- Steward Toronto Pearson’s enterprise AI strategy to accelerate safe, value‑driven AI development and adoption.
- Co‑lead development of 3–5‑year analytics and data product roadmaps aligned to business objectives.
- Champion analytics engineering standards, experimentation frameworks, and best‑in‑class MLOps practices.
- Oversee feature engineering, model evaluation, model tuning, and ongoing performance monitoring.
- Advance responsible AI practices (explainability, fairness, privacy, ethical use) in alignment with enterprise governance.
- Lead identification, scoping, and delivery of high‑value AI and analytics use cases across capacity planning, operations, passenger experience, revenue, and asset performance.
- Direct development and deployment of machine learning models, forecasting tools, optimization frameworks, and decision‑support algorithms.
- Integrate models into enterprise gold‑layer analytics assets (semantic models, features, APIs, metrics).
- Define and track success metrics for each analytics product or use case.
- Build, coach, and develop a high‑performing team of data scientists, analysts, and technical contributors.
- Support data literacy initiatives and enterprise Data & AI Governance.
This is the role for you, if you have:
- 10+ years of progressive experience in data science, analytics, machine learning, and/or AI development, including business value creation.
- 5+ years leading data analytics teams.
- Demonstrated experience through all stages of the analytics lifecycle
- Proven MLOps experience, including feature stores, versioning, monitoring, drift detection, and retraining.
- Strong record of statistical rigor, experiment design, and analytical storytelling.
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science/Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics/Statistics, Information Systems, or Business Administration.
- Ability to obtain and retain Transportation Security Clearance at the designated level for the position.
