(PSD) invites dynamic and passionate educators to apply for a unique French Immersion teaching opportunity for the 2026–2027 school year. This position is specifically designed for early-career teachers who are eager to build a strong professional foundation within a supportive and collaborative community.
PSD is a proud provider of high-quality public education, serving more than 90,000 residents west of Edmonton, including the communities of Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, Parkland County, and Fort Chipewyan. We are currently seeking a qualified candidate to support French Immersion students at École Broxton Park and École Meridian Heights — and possibly other locations if needed. This position will remain open until qualified applicant is hired.

This Probationary Full-time (1.0 FTE) role is a unique opportunity to gain diverse experience across multiple French Immersion environments. If you are a recent graduate this position offers the variety, mentorship, and professional development needed to launch a successful long-term career in education. This role will provide coverage when substitute teachers are unavailable and support short-term medical leaves, typically managed through temporary contracts.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide high-quality instruction and support for students one-on-one, in small groups, or in full classrooms.
Collaborate with teachers, principals, and support staff to ensure continuity of learning and student success.
Implement differentiated instruction and Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to meet the diverse needs of all learners.
Supervise students safely during classroom activities, outdoor learning, and field trips.
Help students grow academically, socially, and personally in a welcoming, French-speaking environment.
Qualifications:
Fluency in French and English (both oral and written).
Bachelor of Education and a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate.
Enthusiasm, flexibility, and a genuine love of learning alongside students.
A commitment to supporting First Nations, Métis, and Inuit students and leading educational change for meaningful reconciliation.
A desire to grow within a mentored team environment.

This position requires a current criminal record check and child intervention record check.
Compensation and benefits are provided in accordance with the Alberta Teachers’ Association collective agreement and include a comprehensive benefits package.
