We are currently seeking an Electrical Design Technologist to join our team in Bathurst, NB. In this role, you will contribute to the design and development of power distribution systems, control panels, and engineering support projects across a range of industrial and utility applications.
The Electrical Design Technologist will report directly to the Engineering Manager and work closely with engineers, project managers, and manufacturing teams to deliver high‑quality, standards‑compliant solutions for our clients.
This position also involves travel to various customer and project sites throughout the Maritimes, supporting inspections, installations, field data collection, and project coordination as required.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assisting Electrical Engineer in research and inspections.
- Design and CAD drawings of photovoltaic Generation System.
- PLC programming, installation, and troubleshooting
- Manage product drawing review and approval process.
- Prepare contracts and purchase agreements with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Provide leadership for assigned projects regarding cost, schedule, quality, safety, and performance.
- Establish and maintain excellent relationships with all stakeholders.
- Ensure work is performed in compliance with applicable standards, IEEE, CSA and applicable codes and standards.
- Monitor and report on progress, productivity, budget, cost, safety and forecast.
- Prepare, review and submit project estimate pricing and schedules.
- Prepare contracts, changes and additions to contractual agreements with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and consultants.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology from a recognized college or technical institute or,
- Commercial Electrician (Journeyperson or equivalent experience)
- Industrial Electrician (Journeyperson or equivalent experience)
- Instrumentation Technician/Technologist (Industrial Instrumentation)
- Electrical Construction or Industrial Maintenance background with relevant design or controls experience
- Combination of electrical and instrumentation experience considered an asset
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- 2–5 years of experience in electrical design, drafting, or engineering technology within industrial, commercial, or utility environments.
- Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar) for electrical drawings and schematics.
- Hands-on experience with control panels, PLCs, power distribution equipment, or protection & control systems.
