Job description
OSSTF - Education Workers The Near North District School Board is Hiring! Communicative Disorders Assistant - North RegionUnder 90 days Effective Immediately The Communicative Disorders Assistant assists the Speech-Language Pathologist (SPL) in the delivery of programs and services to students with communication disorders through the West Region of the Near North District School Board. Location: North Region: North Bay and Surroudning Communities including Strugeon Falls and Mattawa Qualifications: Communicative Disorders Assistant Diploma Knowledge/Skills Required: Experience conducting various screens using established screening protocols without interpretation. Ability to prepare materials and resources for individual programs and maintain concise, accurate documentation. Demonstrated ability to meet requirements and procedures set by Speech and Language Services with respect to documentation of activities, reporting and communication. Ability to maintain ongoing professional development by attending all scheduled in-services and training sessions required by Speech and Language Services. Adept in effective time management to maximize student contact time and requirements for record-keeping and preparation. Demonstrated ability to implement individual and group programs. Assist during assessment by-eliciting and/or collecting language samples, note taking, demonstrating test expectations, collecting demographic information, scoring of assessment results (without interpretation), transcription of recorded speech samples. Have a reliable vehicle and a valid Ontario driver’s license as travel is required.
