Job Description

This position involves working as a material handler within the warehouse side of operations, primarily focusing on managing heavy parts and ensuring efficient material flow.

Responsibilities

• Pick heavy parts weighing up to 50 lbs using reach and counterbalance equipment.
• Bend and pick up units, converting skids onto the rack system.
• Pick materials from shelves and place them on skids, then onto racks.
• Load, unload, move, and store a variety of incoming materials.
• Receive and deliver products in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with Planners, Buyers, and other personnel to maintain inventory and process shipments.
• Operate forklift trucks to move materials and stack loaded pallets.
• Load outgoing trucks using hand trucks, lift trucks, or overhead cranes.
• Maintain in-process inventory at work centers by delivering materials on time.
• Assist in troubleshooting transactional and procedural problems related to inventory accuracy.
• Perform efficient and accurate transactions on the current business system.
• Count, weigh, or measure incoming or outgoing orders and compare them against bills of lading and invoices for accuracy.
• Provide backup for shipping and receiving as required.
• Pack, seal, and label materials for shipment.
• Adhere to shipping and receiving policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance.

Essential Skills

• Material handling experience of 2+ years.
• Experience with inventory management and RF scanners.
• Proficiency in forklift operation and shipping & receiving processes.
• 1.5+ years of reach experience.
• 1.5+ years of counterbalance experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs consistently.
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 1 year of Dock Stocker experience is a nice-to-have.
• Experience with loading, pallet jacks, and shipping.

Why Work Here?

Eligible for profit sharing after 1 year with the company, which can range from $2-4K as an end-of-year bonus.

Work Environment

You will work in a manufacturing company with a team of approximately 300 people, including office staff, assemblers, testers, warehouse members, and engineers. The shift runs from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brampton, ON.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.50 - $23.50/hr.
