What you'll do

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director, Academic Equity and Quality, the Senior Manager, Academic Planning, Operations and Quality:

  • Provides strategic and operational leadership in academic planning, budgeting, operations, and quality assurance across all lines of business.
  • Ensures integration across academic planning, operations, and quality assurance functions and works with Academic senior leadership to ensure alignment of academic programming with NSCCs vision, mission and mandate, strategic priorities, provincial mandate, and quality standards.
  • Leads integrated academic planning and operations, encompassing program mix planning, academic resource allocation and budgeting, academic operations, and provides oversight of the academic quality framework and system to ensure consistency, excellence, equity and continuous improvement in academic delivery.
  • Supports alignment of academic planning processes with and business and strategic planning processes.
  • Provides direct oversight of the Manager, Academic Operations, Manager, Academic Quality Assurance, Academic Planning Analyst and Financial Analyst, Academic.
  • Ensures cohesive execution of academic initiatives and continuous improvement across the planning, operations, and quality domains.
  • Leads cross-functional teams to optimize academic systems and processes to support data and evidence informed decision-making and play a critical role in enabling a unified academic system that supports sustainable, equitable, and high-quality program delivery across all lines of business.

What we are looking for…

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:

  • The minimum educational qualification for this position is a Master's degree in Education, Business Administration, Public Policy, or a related field. Additional training and/or certifications in teaching, adult education, or diversity, equity and inclusion would be an asset.
  • You have a minimum of seven (7) years of progressive leadership experience in post-secondary academic planning, operations or quality assurance.
  • You possess:excellent strategic planning and project management skills.strong quantitative and qualitative research, data and analysis and evidence-informed decision making skillsproven experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex academic systemsadvanced proficiency in academic systems and digital tools (e.g., SIS, ERP, BI tools)experience with academic systems and governance processes

  • Effective and persuasive leadership style; with the ability to engage, inspire and motivate others in the pursuit of academic equity and excellence.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to understand and navigate high-profile, sensitive or controversial situations with tact and confidence

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to generate creative ideas and implement effective solutions
  • Demonstrated expertise in innovative problem solving and strategic thinking.
  • Skilled at leveraging formal and informal networks within a matrix organization to lead institution wide projects and effect change.
  • Ability to lead through significant change and ambiguity to create clarity.
  • Ability to inspire others through exemplary leadership practice and strong people management skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex information into comprehensive, concise and actionable objectives
  • Capable of presenting concepts to audiences at all levels within an organization
  • Experience with external accreditation and regulatory engagement.
