Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager

To provide a safe and secure environment for our employees, contractors, visitors and the surrounding community in cooperation with facility, corporate Operations and EHS objectives, targets and goals. To ensure compliance with all EHS regulatory and Responsible Care requirements. To understand and strategically reduce EHS risk to all stakeholders via a proactive and continuous improvement approach. This role will also support corporate EHS initiatives/activities as assigned.

Scope of Work:

This position will interact with senior executives, functional leaders, service center managers, supervisors, operations employees at the facility and other EHS leaders. Key functional groups and customers for this position are EHS, Quality, Operations, Inspections, Materials, NDE, Customer Service, Engineering, external regulatory agencies, and Maintenance Procurement among others.

This position will focus on research and analysis of environmental, health, safety, and quality related issues. It is an independent, cross-functional key position that contributes significant knowledge and influence to the GATX Operations group in order to achieve our defined initiatives. The position must also be effective in working with and influencing hourly union employees.

Direct reports include the Safety Committee.

Education and/or Experience Required (including certifications):

Travel required within the US and Canada ~ 2 to 3 times annually.
