Process Engineer

We currently have a full-time Process Engineer role with a great company in Mississauga!

Duties for this role will include:
Overall responsibility for the identification of improvements within company processes including the introduction of new technologies to reduce operating costs and improve efficiency. Ensuring all improvement plans align with manufacturing strategy and strategic plans.
•Develop a corporate automation plan that integrates with and supports the Manufacturing strategy
•Implement data tracking measures to identify improvement opportunities.
•Develop plans to increase productivity on existing automated equipment
•Utilize known technologies to streamline and determine the appropriate degree of automation for each manufacturing process
•Create specifications for automation opportunities identified and identify strategy to develop automated equipment ranging from in house development, procurement of equipment or hybrid of both strategies.
•Work with vendors and service providers to assist in the design of automation solutions when required.
•Work with the quality engineer to create validation and test plans for process improvements or changes
•Ensure all process changes are processed through the change management process.
•Suggest amendments or improvements to the manufacturing strategy
•Identify most cost-effective solutions to address manufacturing issues.
•Work with the maintenance team to identify problematic areas in existing automated processes.
•Develop Key Performance Indicators for existing automated lines
•Work with Maintenance teams to develop critical spares inventory for new or existing equipment
•Manage equipment procurement schedules.
•Work with quality and operations groups to identify productivity and quality expectations and key performance indicators for new manufacturing processes.
•Work with quality and operations groups to develop training plans and working procedures and instructions for new equipment or processes
•Ensure all relevant documentation pertaining to new equipment or processes is stored in an accessible location
•Work with maintenance teams to develop preventative maintenance plans, troubleshooting guides and repair instructions for new equipment
•Provide recommendations to existing equipment or recommendations for new equipment to accommodate new product development opportunities
•Record costs and maintain records of all SRED applicable projects
•Ensure the integration of all new equipment and processes with ERP system for appropriate manufacturing data collection and accuracy of Bill of Operations Management

Project Management Duties:
•Assist in the development of project scope and objectives
•Develop detailed project plans for all projects and monitor and track progress
•Ensure expenditure is tracked and maintained within budget
•Escalate to management any issues
•Ensure project reports are produced on completion of each project.
•Manage changes to project scope objectives or costs.

Requirements:
Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a combination of both or Mechatronic Engineering
Looking for SolidWorks experience, CAD experience, PLC Programming would be an asset
Manufacturing experience – Working with Metal products would be an asset
