Marketing and Communications Manager

Matchbox Consulting Group is consulting for a self-performing, integrated construction company with 80 years of service in Western Canada looking for a Marketing & Communications Manager to own our client's brand presence and internal communications.

In this role, you develop and execute marketing strategies content creation, and digital and traditional campaigns that enhance engagement with employees, clients, and industry partners. You align messaging with business goals, manage internal and external communications, and measure the impact of marketing efforts. This role is ideal for a hands-on marketer, who enjoys balancing brand and strategy with demonstrating practical, execution-focused support aligned with the builder mindset.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Align marketing and communications initiatives with company goals, building relationships across departments, providing guidance and ensuring a unified approach to achieving business success.
• Develop and execute high-impact, multi-channel marketing campaigns to enhance the company’s brand and market presence, drive engagement and business growth.
• Lead content creation, social media, website management, digital and physical advertising.
• Partner with business unit manager, leaders and internal teams to ensure brand consistency across marketing materials and communications.
• Lead a small team, providing mentorship, direction, and support to drive performance and professional development.
• Manage relationships with external partners, agencies and external vendors ensuring high-quality deliverables and adherence to timelines and budgets.
• Track and analyze the effectiveness of marketing communications efforts, using data to refine strategies and improve ROI. Provide regular updates and reports to leadership on performance outcomes.
• Research industry trends and best practices to keep marketing efforts effective

Qualifications & Skills:

• Diploma or degree in Journalism, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience in marketing and communications, managing brand, multichannel campaigns, and corporate communications.
• Experience in construction or a similar technical industry. B2B Marketing experience preferred.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated mastery of marketing and project management tools and analytics platforms to measure performance and derive insights.
• A proactive, team-oriented mindset with experience leading initiatives and managing teams.
• Access to a reliable transportation and current driver’s license is needed for occasional field visits.
• This position is office-based with some site travel in BC & Alberta required.
