Systems Monitoring & Infrastructure Specialist

Dexcent Inc. is looking for an experienced Systems Monitoring & Infrastructure Specialist to support, configure, and maintain enterprise monitoring platforms within an Operational Technology (OT) environment. This is a contract opportunity and the individual can be fully remote.

About the Role:

This role will be responsible for the setup, administration, troubleshooting, and ongoing optimization of monitoring tools and server infrastructure, while also supporting end users through dashboard development, reporting, and training.

The successful candidate will play a key role in completing the current Prometheus and Grafana implementation and expanding monitoring capabilities across the environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure, administer, and maintain monitoring platforms including SolarWinds Orion, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana & LibreNMS.
• Complete Prometheus and Grafana setup and develop additional dashboards and reports.
• Monitor system health, performance, and availability across OT infrastructure.
• Administer Windows and Linux server environments.
• Perform system setup, patching, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Support performance tuning and optimization initiatives.
• Develop customized dashboards and reports based on operational requirements.
• Provide training and guidance to users on monitoring tools and data interpretation.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify monitoring needs and improve visibility.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or Electrical/Control Systems Engineering.
• Equivalent technical diploma or certifications with significant hands-on experience may be considered.
• 5–10 years of hands-on experience supporting monitoring systems and OT or IT infrastructure in pipeline, energy, or industrial process environments.
• Extensive hands-on experience with:
• SolarWinds Orion
• Splunk
• Prometheus and Grafana (setup and configuration required)
• Experience configuring dashboards, reports, and user-facing monitoring tools.
• Experience administering Windows and Linux servers.
• Strong troubleshooting, diagnostics, and problem-resolution skills.
• Familiarity with network monitoring and performance optimization.
• Experience developing custom monitoring workflows or automation.
• Ability to deliver user training and create documentation.
• Certifications in Windows Server, Linux Administration, SolarWinds Orion/ Splunk/Prometheus/Grafana, network administration, or ITIL are an asset.
