We are currently hiring a regular full-time Direct Support Coordinator for our Supported Independent Living program in Petrolia and Sarnia, Ontario.
Direct Support Coordinators make a difference in people's lives by providing support to people with developmental disabilities in all activities of daily living in their homes and the community and by fostering independence and personal growth. In conjunction with the person, their team and family/friends, Direct Support Coordinators are responsible for planning and overseeing provision of support, along with creating skill development opportunities for people supported in aspiration to reach their life goals.
Developmental Service Worker or related diploma (ie: SSW, CYW, B.A. in Psychology, etc.)
Experience working with people with developmental disabilities
Valid "G or G2" class license and reliable vehicle
Be willing to provide a clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check
Be legally entitled to work in Canada
Current certification in First Aid/CPR required
Current certification in NVCPI or willing to obtain
Knowledge and experience supporting people with mental health/illness
Adaptable to varying complex support needs
Mental Health First Aid, Safe Talk and Trauma Informed Care an asset
Knowledge of community resources an asset
