Bridge Design Engineer

• Perform structural analysis and design for bridges and related transportation infrastructure, including retaining walls, bridge size culverts, and overhead sign structures.

• Provide technical input for proposals

• Prepare technical reports documenting option analyses

• Develop and maintain detailed design notes and calculations

• Prepare drawing packages and special provisions in support of construction activities

• Develop quantity take-offs and cost estimates

• Mentor and provide guidance to junior technical staff

• Review construction submittals and provide technical support during construction

• Conduct limited field inspections and travel for field work, as required

What you must have:

• P. Eng designation with APEGA or the ability to register from another province.

• Post secondary education in engineering specializing in structural engineering.

• A minimum of five years of experience in bridge design and/or other structural design.

• Familiarity with Canadian design codes and standards.

• Interested in mentoring others on design best practices.

• Experience delivering new/rehabilitation bridge design from start to finish.

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues and work with junior staff and technicians within a team environment.

Salary/Rate Range: $100,000 - $120,000
