Job Overview
Welcomes guests to the restaurant and provides fast and courteous service to ensure an enjoyable dining experience and encourage repeat business.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet guests promptly and courteously upon arrival.
- Seat guests while ensuring a balanced workload among servers.
- Maintain an accurate waitlist and notify guests when their table is ready.
- Assist with assigning server sections and communicating daily specials.
- Process take-out and room service orders when required.
- Handle cash transactions, including processing payments and balancing the cash drawer.
- Assist with clearing, cleaning, and setting tables as needed.
- Respond to guest requests quickly and professionally to ensure satisfaction.
- Maintain a professional appearance and follow all brand standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned while following all Company and Marriott Brand Standards.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills required.
- 6 months of cash handling or food service experience preferred.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand and move throughout the restaurant for extended periods.
- Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and lifting.
- Handling menus, trays, glassware, and food items.
Other
- Strong communication skills when interacting with guests and team members.
- Ability to read, write, and complete basic paperwork and cash reports.
- Basic math skills required for cash handling and transactions.
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Work Area: Restaurant and food and beverage outlet areas.
Health and Safety
- Follow all safe work procedures and use protective equipment as required.
- Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and applicable regulations.
- Report hazards, incidents, and injuries immediately to management.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
