Job description

Position Title

Enterprise Architect, Software and Platforms Architecture (T & I) (Telework/Hybrid)

Permanent position available in Toronto, Ottawa or Montreal with a hybrid work arrangement.

Responsibilities

  • Define and promote a shared vision of Enterprise Architecture and establish clear direction on roles, responsibilities, and priorities with stakeholders.
  • Lead the evolution of the Enterprise Architecture practice and drive the shift from IT‑centric to business‑centric enterprise architecture.
  • Define the strategy to connect EA with data governance, risk management, and information security to monitor implementation and effectiveness.
  • Participate in designing, documenting, and communicating current and target‑state architectures for major initiatives and vendor‑driven system replacements.
  • Document the High Level Architecture that outlines the structure, components, and relationships between business processes, data, applications, and technology infrastructure.
  • Ensure that enterprise investments align with business goals and objectives.
  • Ensure that architectural decisions align with organizational policies, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Help establish and enforce architecture governance processes and standards.
  • Drive innovation by identifying emerging technologies and evaluating their potential for the organization.
  • Coach and mentor other architects, product owners, managers, and business stakeholders to instill architectural thinking.
  • Build and maintain relationships with business and technology stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, or related field.
  • Five or more years of enterprise architecture and/or business experience in strategic and operational planning.
  • Ten or more years of experience in solution or technical architecture and application development.
  • Knowledge of business ecosystems such as SaaS, cloud platforms, on‑prem, and hybrid solutions.
  • Understanding of business models, operating models, financial models, cost‑benefit analysis, budgeting, and risk management.
  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture tools, graphical models, and frameworks.
  • Understanding of operating models such as project‑centric and product‑centric.
  • Effective leadership skills with strong soft and interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation.

Desired Skills

  • Organizational savvy and contextual intelligence of the enterprise political climate and ability to navigate obstacles and politics.
  • Balance between long‑term (“big picture”) and short‑term implications of decisions and organizational goals.
  • Excellent written, verbal, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to articulate ideas and concepts to technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Ability to work with remote teams.
  • Bilingualism in English and French is a strong asset.
