S.i. Systems client is looking for a Senior Business Analyst leading end-to-end requirements gathering, business process analysis, and documentation to translate complex HR operational needs into scalable, optimized solutions within the Workday HCM ecosystem
6 month contract to start. You may work onsite at BCI’s Victoria or Vancouver office, hybrid, or fully remote. If remote, PST hours. Expected working hours will be up to 7 hours a day from 8:30AM to 4:30PM, PST, up to five days per week. It is expected this engagement will be 25-35 hours per week.
Must haves:
- Bachelor's degree or CCBA (Certification of Capability in BA) or CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional)
- 6+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, HRIS Analyst, or similar role
- Hands-on experience with Workday HCM, including HCM Core, Advanced Reporting, and Workday Studio (preferred)
- Solid understanding of HR functions and processes across the employee lifecycle (onboarding, compensation, benefits, payroll, talent management, offboarding)
- Demonstrated expertise in workflow design, business process mapping, and documentation (Visio, Lucid chart, or similar tools)
- Proven ability to facilitate requirements sessions, stakeholder interviews, and cross-functional workshops
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
Nice to haves:
- Workday Pro certification in HCM, Reporting, or Integrations
- Experience working within an HR department or Financial Services organization
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Experience with AI tools - Microsoft Co-Pilot or Anthropic Claude
- Exposure to additional Workday modules such as Recruiting, Learning, Compensation, or Advanced Compensation
- Experience with data migration, security configuration, or EIB development
- Background in change management or end-user training delivery
Responsibilities:
Business Process Design & Documentation
- Analyze, map, and document current-state and future-state HR business processes and workflows
- Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and standardization
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including process flows, standard operating procedures, and system configuration guides
Requirements Gathering & Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with HR functional areas, including HR Operations, HR Technology, Payroll, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management (including Learning & Development), EE&I, and HR Analytics, to understand business needs
- Elicit, analyze, and translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications
- Facilitate discovery sessions, workshops, and design reviews with cross-functional stakeholders
- Manage competing priorities and communicate trade-offs effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Leverage AI tools to augment requirements gathering, analysis, and documentation activities;
