Day In the Life

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for testing Concrete production samples and maintaining the quality management system. They will perform tests, coordinate with operations staff and supervise Concrete pours to ensure our products meet our customers’ needs by maintaining a high level quality product.

Responsibilities

• Assist with concrete technical services for Miller Concrete’s Operations
• Perform field Concrete and aggregate analysis
• Jobsite supervision and communication with Concrete operations
• Maintain databases of Concrete and aggregate test tracking, statistical analysis and results
• Assist in Concrete mix design development and optimization
• Coordinate and prioritize your own work schedule
• Support Miller’s Concrete paving operations

Qualifications

• Civil Engineering Degree or Technologist/Technician Diploma
• Working towards or willingness to acquire PEng Certification an asset
• Ability to respond to needs and requests of others in a professional and supportive manner
• Excellent computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office, and hands on ability, with appreciation toward keeping up with new software and technologies used on the job
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills (verbal & written)
• Strong analytical and excellent organizational skills required to compile, accumulate, and utilize information
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as required
• Ability to perform manual labour and lift heavy aggregate and Concrete samples
• Goal orientated
• Valid Driver's License and vehicle required

Compensation Data

Salary Range between $65,000 - 75,000 per annum
