Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Mobile & Digital Architect to lead end-to-end architecture across mobile, web, cloud, and backend ecosystems. This role requires deep expertise in cloud-native design, microservices, omnichannel platforms, and enterprise web application architecture. The ideal candidate will serve as a senior technical advisor, driving scalable, high-performance, and future-ready digital solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Architecture & System Design

• Define end-to-end architecture for web, mobile, and cloud-based solutions using cloud-native principles.
  

• Design scalable microservices-based architectures and API-driven ecosystems (REST, GraphQL).
  

• Develop hybrid and cross-platform mobile architectures enabling high code reuse across iOS and Android.
  

• Optimize device performance, battery usage, caching strategies, and offline capabilities.
  

• Establish modern front-end and mobile frameworks using React, Angular, Micro Frontends, Swift, Kotlin, and Kotlin Multiplatform.

2. Headless & Omnichannel Architecture

• Design Headless CMS architectures decoupling content from presentation layers.
  

• Enable seamless content distribution across web, mobile, wearables, IoT, and third-party platforms.
  

• Integrate CRM, CMS, databases, analytics, and engagement tools into unified customer experience platforms.
  

• Ensure consistent state management and user journeys across digital touchpoints.

3. Cloud, Backend & Integration

• Architect and implement backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.
  

• Build and optimize workloads on AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and Firebase.
  

• Implement containerization, serverless, and event-driven architectures.
  

• Design secure integration frameworks using API Gateways, microservices, and scalable data pipelines.
  

• Enforce API governance standards including OAuth2, JWT, rate limiting, and observability.

4. DevOps, Reliability & Performance

• Partner with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps).
  

• Define containerization and orchestration strategies using Docker and Kubernetes.
  

• Implement monitoring and logging frameworks (Cloud-native tools, ELK, Prometheus).
  

• Drive SLAs, SLOs, and platform performance optimization initiatives.

5. Technical Leadership & Collaboration

• Serve as senior technical advisor for digital architecture initiatives.
  

• Guide teams on best practices, code standards, and architectural patterns.
  

• Conduct architecture reviews, feasibility assessments, and performance audits.
  

• Mentor cross-functional teams across mobile, web, backend, and DevOps.

Requirements
Experience (Years): 4-6 Essential Skills: • Work with project teams throughout the organization to design, implement, and manage CDN infrastructure using Akamai, to ensure high availability, performance, and scalability for customer facing applications and business processes. • Handle multiple priorities and assignments with excellence and precision. • Be a part of a 24/7/365 organization (some after hours support is expected as part of normal on-call rotation). • Directly support line of business development teams, provide guidance to them on implementation and changes for customer facing applications • Develop and maintain security protocols and measures to protect CDN infrastructure from cyber threats. • Monitor and analyze network performance, identifying and resolving issues to optimize content delivery of critical applications. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Akamai CDN solutions with existing systems and applications. • Collaborate with information security teams to implement DDoS protection strategies and other security measures in the CDN. • Provide technical support and guidance to clients and internal teams regarding CDN and security best practices. • Work closely with vendor and professional service teams on delivery related activities and strategy. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. OR similar work experience. • Strong understanding of network protocols (HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, TCP/IP). • Proven experience as a CDN Engineer or similar role, with a strong focus on cybersecurity. • In-depth knowledge of Content Delivery Network technologies, including caching, load balancing, and content optimization. • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Strong communication and teamwork abilities. • Experience supporting 24/7/365 customer facing applications at enterprise scale. • Awareness and experience with cybersecurity tools and practices, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and encryption. • Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash) a plus. • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH) are a plus but not required.
