What You Will Do:
In this unionized position of Technician, Building Services, you will play an essential role within our Building & Fleet Services team. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Maintaining accurate records of requests, progress reports and inspection records;
- Completing minor building maintenance tasks including but not limited to snow/ice removal, lawn/yard maintenance, changing light bulbs, painting, etc.;
- Performing quality checks on building systems;
- Responding to building/system alarms for troubleshooting purposes (outside building hours as well);
- Coordinating and monitoring vendor/contractor activities for compliance to AUI requirements
- Assisting with the movement of vehicles as required; and
- Assisting with cleaning, fueling/charging pool vehicles as required.
What You Will Bring:
Required qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent;
- Three years’ experience in building maintenance setting;
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License;
- An acceptable driver's abstract is also required for this position; and
- Physical ability to perform the duties of this position.
Preferred skills and qualifications:
- Demonstrated mechanical ability;
- Beginner proficiency with MS Office 365 (Word, SharePoint, Excel, Outlook)
- Beginner proficiency with a work order system (example: Maximo)
- Ability to problem solve; and
- Strong attention to detail.
