Estimator

Our client is a long‑established Western Canadian real estate development and construction firm with over 40 years of experience delivering commercial, residential, industrial, retail, hospitality, and recreational projects. They manage the full lifecycle: acquisition, development, construction, leasing, and sales.

The Estimator is responsible for producing accurate cost estimates from early schematic budgets through full tender packages for recreational, commercial, and residential projects, collaborating closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and Architects.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, quantity take‑offs, and cost breakdowns.
• Analyze drawings, specs, and tender documents.
• Obtain subcontractor and supplier pricing and prepare competitive bids.
• Conduct site visits and support value‑engineering exercises.

Skills & Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
• Ability to interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical drawings.
• High attention to detail; capable of conceptual estimating.
• Effective communication and proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Procore).
