Job Title: Software Engineer (AWS/Node/React)

Location: 100% Remote, Canada
Experience: 8+ Years
Rate: $60 to $70 CAD PH

Role Summary: NearSource is looking for a Senior Software Engineer (AWS/Node/React) to design and deliver scalable cloud-native solutions supporting modern water management workflows. This role focuses on backend service development, distributed systems, and full-stack execution while contributing to architectural decisions within enterprise-grade environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute scalable backend services on AWS using serverless and containerized architectures
• Develop distributed systems capable of handling high-volume and high-frequency data workflows
• Implement robust ETL processes for data ingestion and transformation using modern tooling
• Develop production-grade, maintainable, and testable code aligned with enterprise standards
• Contribute to architectural design discussions and system-level decision-making
• Build and enhance user-facing applications using React and modern web tooling
• Participate in design reviews and code reviews to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver product-based workflows

Must-Have Skills

• 8+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong experience designing and building scalable, distributed systems
• Hands-on expertise with AWS services, including Lambda, API Gateway, and DynamoDB
• Strong backend development experience using NodeJS
• 3+ years of experience developing modern front-end applications using React
• Experience building cloud-native applications using containerized or serverless patterns
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with AWS IoT services
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation
• Exposure to machine learning concepts
• Experience working with container orchestration environments
