Job description
Caring Nanny Needed for Wonderful 6-Year-Old (West End, Toronto) We are seeking a nurturing and reliable nanny to join our family and care for our 6-year-old son in the west end area of Toronto—a great neighborhood with parks and community resources nearby. About Our Family: Our son is autistic, non-verbal, and has some physical disabilities. He is a joyful, curious child who thrives with attentive and supportive caregivers. We are looking for an experienced and compassionate nanny who is passionate about helping children with special needs. Schedule: August: Thursday: 9:00am-6:00pm Friday: 9:00am-6:00pm Occasional evening or weekend availability would be wonderful, but is not required. September: Monday-Friday: 3:00pm-8:00pm Key Responsibilities: - Pick up our son from school and bring him home (a car is not necessary—school and home are accessible by walking or public transit) - Engage our son in enriching activities (reading, music, games, simple art, sensory play) - Prepare healthy meals and snacks for him - Take him on daily walks and outings (parks, libraries, etc.) He loves to be outside! - Support with potty breaks and diaper changes - Provide attentive, individualized care tailored to his needs Requirements: - Experience caring for children with autism and developmental delays (essential) - Comfortable supporting non-verbal children and using alternative communication methods (e.g., PECS, gestures) - Current CPR/First Aid certification - Food Safety training (or willingness to obtain) - Multiple references from previous families or work - Willingness to complete a background and vulnerable sector check - Patient, honest, dependable, and genuinely compassionate Compensation: $25 per hour Start Date & Commitment: Position available to begin ASAP.
