:The Sun Life Health (SLH) business within Sun Life Canada is a leading provider of Group Benefits and Health Solutions. A market leader in the advancement of workplace mental health across Canada, through the introduction of new tools such asVirtual Care and Stress Management and Well-Being program providing members access to mental health and medical specialists 24/7. SLH is seeking a Financial Analyst to join its fast-paced and energetic Finance team.
Reporting to theManager, Financial Controls, the Financial Analyst will play a crucial role in executing and supporting control activities critical to the Sun Life Health business.
What will you do?
Prepareaccount reconciliations ensuringthey areaccurate, complete,informativeand meet Sun Life account reconciliation standards.
Identify, investigate,and resolve differencesin reconciliations incollaborationwith business partners.
Support internal and external audits.This includes supportingretrieval ofaudit sample requests andparticipatingin walkthrough meetings to discuss control processes.
Validate, improve, and document key business processesand controls;seizingonopportunitiesto transform current manualhigh volume and/or complexfunctions.
Participate in projects and ad-hoc requests as needed.
Whatdoyou need to succeed?
Minimum of 3+ years of experience inreconciliations,financialreportingand/or internal controls.
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Officetools (includingExcel,Word,Accessand PowerPoint).
A passion and willingness to understand accounting flows fromsource-to-ledgerand relate accounting tobusinessprocesses and transactions.
Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills.
Self-motivated, results-orientedand flexible to changing priorities and timelines.
Proven technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
This role requires . In addition to a law enforcement inquiry and a credit check, as part of your application, the Government of Canada will ask if you lived or travelled outside of Canada for 6-consecutive months during the last 5 years, and you must account for all activities during this time.
Preferred:
Previousexperience with Frontier(or other reconciliation tools),SAP .
ACPA,other designationor diploma/degree in accountingis considered anasset. This role can be reported under the CPA experience verification pathway.
