Job Description

Come Grow With Us!

If you are passionate about doing your best work, making a difference, and having fun doing it, apply to one of our positions today!

About Us

We want to see people inspired to do meaningful work.

Our mission is simple - to see young people living fully in Christ. We are committed to helping youth develop holistically by offering programs and developing relationships that nurture the whole person - physically, mentally, emotionally, socially and spiritually.

Youth Unlimited YFC exists to help young people in Southwestern Ontario experience hope and attain their full life potential by showing love and care for their whole person and encouraging them to know, follow, and serve God.

What You Will Do

We are looking for the kind of person who can plan, implement, and engage in youth activities in a Youth Centre and/or Elementary/High School setting. The interested candidate should be able to create programs based on their God-given abilities while considering the needs of the community youth they are serving. Relationship building capabilities are essential to this position. Responsibilities include creative programming, team work and team building, personal/professional development, administrative tasks, and creating a support base of ministry partners who will financially support you in this ministry.

You Will:

  • Work directly with youth
  • Attend meetings: regular supervisory meetings, monthly satellite staff meetings, bi-monthly chapter wide staff meetings, and annual retreats/conferences
  • Recruit and work with volunteers
  • Advocate for youth through fundraising
  • Participate in the major fundraising events of the satellite
  • Interact with the public, providing clear communication to parents of youth
  • Complete administrative tasks (monthly reports, policies, etc)
  • Be responsible to uphold SWOYFC policies, procedures, and risk management
  • Be involved in training and seeking ongoing professional development opportunities

What You Need To Get The Job Done!

  • Fully aligned with the message, mission, and ministry strategy of Youth Unlimited YFC
  • Spiritual maturity
  • Excellent relational skills with a professional approach to relationships
  • Willingness to participate within a team that undertakes a variety of weekly tasks
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience with strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to work independently
  • Post secondary education preferred
  • Satisfactory Criminal Reference Check (Vulnerable Persons Sector)

What Will Make Us REALLY Love You!

  • Experience with youth ministry
  • Passion for learning and ability to be curious and pro-active
  • Responsible for managing time
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication
  • Urgency in work and the ability to get projects done in a timely manner

What You Will Love About Us!

  • Great culture - a fun, creative, and energetic youth-focused environment with staff teams who genuinely care for each other.
  • Opportunities to make an impact - we care about your individuality by giving you freedom to grow and create within the organization while impacting the lives of young people
  • Prepare for the future - a generous RSP with a company match
  • The care you receive - comprehensive benefits package, training, retreats, development opportunities, paid time off, and more……

Salary

The salary of this position is determined on a scale based on education and experience, and is funded on a missionary basis requiring the development of a ministry partnership team.

Hiring Statement

At SWOYFC, we believe that the workplace is unified when each of us is encouraged, recognized, and able to serve out of our gifts. We believe that we can serve our youth most effectively when our staff represent the communities in which we serve. At SWOYFC we are working hard to foster an environment of collaboration, diversity, inclusivity and respect. We encourage people of all ethnicities and abilities who love Jesus and are aligned with our vision and values, to consider applying.

We strive to achieve equality in the workplace, which means no one will be denied employment opportunities for reasons unrelated to fit for a role. We also understand employment equity means more than treating individuals in the same way but requires special measures and the accommodation of differences. In this way, we are working to create a diverse and inclusive workplace.
