Sommaire du poste:
Le ou la directeur(trice) général(e) est responsable du leadership global, de la performance et de la rentabilité de la ou des succursales assignées. Ce rôle supervise les opérations quotidiennes, la gestion de la flotte, la sécurité et la conformité, la performance financière, les relations avec la clientèle ainsi que la gestion des équipes, afin d’assurer des services de transport efficaces, sécuritaires et rentables.

Principales responsabilités:
Dans ce rôle, vous serez responsable de:

  • Superviser l’ensemble des opérations quotidiennes de camionnage et de transport de marchandises, incluant la répartition, l’utilisation de la flotte et les activités du terminal
  • Élaborer et mettre en œuvre des stratégies opérationnelles visant à améliorer la productivité et réduire les coûts
  • Suivre et analyser les indicateurs de performance clés (KPI), incluant les revenus, les marges, la qualité du service, l’efficacité opérationnelle et la performance de recouvrement des comptes
  • Contribuer à la conclusion de nouvelles occasions d’affaires afin de soutenir la croissance et la rentabilité de la succursale
  • Développer et maintenir des relations solides avec les clients et les fournisseurs afin d’identifier et de gérer les enjeux et les occasions
  • Gérer et développer le budget d’exploitation
  • Recruter, former, planifier et superviser le personnel; tenir des réunions d’équipe régulières afin de favoriser une communication efficace
  • Effectuer toute autre tâche connexe au besoin

Qualifications
Nous recherchons une personne qui possède:

Formation et experience:

  • Diplôme d’études postsecondaires en gestion des affaires, logistique, transport ou dans un domaine connexe (un atout)
  • Minimum de 5 ans d’expérience progressive en leadership dans des opérations de camionnage, de transport de marchandises ou de logistique

Compétences et aptitudes:

  • Expérience démontrée en gestion budgétaire, états financiers (P&L) et performance opérationnelle
  • Succès avéré dans la gestion de grandes équipes, incluant des chauffeurs et du personnel opérationnel
  • Expérience avec des systèmes de gestion du transport (TMS), des systèmes de répartition et des logiciels de gestion de flotte
  • Solide sens des affaires avec une orientation vers les marges et la rentabilité
  • Excellentes aptitudes en leadership et en prise de décision
  • Fortes capacités d’analyse, financières et de résolution de problèmes
  • Capacité à gérer plusieurs priorités dans un environnement rapide et en constante évolution
  • Excellentes habiletés en communication et en négociation
  • Orientation résultats et amélioration continue
  • La maîtrise du français et de l’anglais est requise

Role Summary:
The Director & General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and profitability of the assigned branch(es). This role oversees daily operations, fleet management, safety and compliance, financial performance, customer relationships, and team leadership to ensure efficient, safe, and profitable transportation services.

Key Accountabilities:
In this role, you will:

  • Oversee all day-to-day trucking and freight operations, including dispatch, fleet utilization, and terminal activities
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to improve productivity and reduce costs
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including revenue, margin, service quality, operational efficiency and cash collection performance
  • Assist with closing new business opportunities to contribute to the branch’s growth and profitability
  • Develop and enhance relationships with customers and suppliers to identify and respond to issues and opportunities
  • Manage and develop operating budget
  • Recruit, train, schedule and supervise staff; conduct regular staff meetings to facilitate effective team communication
  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications
We’re looking for someone who brings:

Education & Experience:

  • Completion of post-secondary education in Business Management, Logistics, Transportation or related field (preferred)
  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in trucking, freight, or logistics operations

Skills & Attributes:

  • Proven experience managing budgets, P&L, and operational performance
  • Demonstrated success leading large teams, including drivers and operations staff
  • Experience with TMS, dispatch systems, and fleet management software
  • Solid commercial experience with margin and profit orientation
  • Strong leadership and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills
  • Results-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Fluency in French and English is required
