Our commitment to employee well‑being includes a supportive and flexible work environment, continuous learning, and the chance to make a meaningful impact in our clients' financial lives.

We are honoured to have been named one of Atlantic Canada's Best Places to Work in 2024 by Atlantic Business Magazine and to have been recognized as a Top Employer in 2024 by Wealth Professional Canada.

The Role

Are you an experienced financial advisor passionate about providing exceptional service and holistic financial advice? Do you thrive on building relationships and delivering world‑class client experience? Are you aligned with our fundamental principles of ethics, responsibility, trust, community, expertise, and empathy?

We are seeking a Regional Financial Advisor to join our team in Bedford, Nova Scotia and the surrounding areas. In this capacity, your primary responsibilities will include providing valuable financial planning guidance and cultivating meaningful, lasting relationships with our clients. While your daily work will involve one‑on‑one interactions with clients, we are searching for an individual who thrives on teamwork and is motivated by the prospect of contributing to a larger initiative.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients to create personalized financial plans that meet their unique needs.
  • Provide tailored investment and insurance recommendations to help clients achieve their financial objectives.
  • Provide high‑level service and advice to an existing book of business with clients located in Nova Scotia.
  • Cultivate relationships with members, clients, and colleagues to foster a strong network and sense of community.
  • Develop and enhance referral relationships with our credit union partners.
  • Proactively develop and maintain the existing book of business, ensuring sustained growth and member satisfaction.
  • Adhere to the highest professional and regulatory standards at CU Financial Management.
  • Elevate brand awareness both within the organization and the broader community, thereby strengthening the organization's presence.
  • Embrace a growth mindset through continuous learning, professional development, and staying current with industry standards and trends.

Minimum Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • Valid Mutual Funds License in good standing and satisfy all eligibility criteria for CIRO‑MFD licensing.
  • Ability to meet eligibility requirements for CIRO‑ID licensing would be considered an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Life license or willing to complete within 6 months of hire.
  • 2+ years of experience in the wealth management or investment advisory industry.
  • Financial Planning designation, or willingness to pursue, would be considered an asset.
  • Experience with financial planning software.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with clients.
  • A passion for delivering financial planning services and a commitment to client success.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Knowledge of investment strategies, risk management, and financial planning best practices.
  • Travel to our partner credit union’s branches is required, with occasional trips outside the region.

At CU Financial Management, we embody a set of core values: ethics, responsibility, trust, community, expertise, and empathy. We are not just looking for qualifications but also for individuals who share and demonstrate these values.

We are dedicated to fostering a culture of growth and development. As an employee, you'll have access to opportunities for advancement. Excelling in your role opens doors to taking on more responsibilities, acquiring new skills, and advancing your career within our rapidly growing organization.

We’re committed to your growth because we believe in growing together. We'd love to hear from you if you seek a challenging and rewarding opportunity with a company that values your contributions and actively supports your professional journey.
