Job Description
ADGA has an immediate opening for an Electronics Technician Team Leader to join our team. In this role, you will serve as the senior technical lead supporting the maintenance of advanced electronic security systems, including motion detectors, intrusion detection systems, drone detection technologies, CCTV, radio communication, public address, metal detectors, X‑ray machines, and more. You will also provide guidance, support, and mentorship to junior and intermediate Electronics Technicians.
Responsibilities
- Act as the point of contact with the Regional Supervisor and the client’s Regional Authority while managing day‑to‑day operations.
- Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance plans and special projects, ensuring safe and efficient team performance.
- Apply all policies and procedures, understand legal liabilities, and adhere to occupational health and safety laws.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, identify training needs, complete initial safety and hazard assessments, and participate in accident investigations.
- Motivate team members to meet goals, evaluate quality of work, mentor apprentice technicians, and prepare reports for the Contractor Regional Supervisor and Regional Authority.
- Complete On‑The‑Job Training within twelve months of start date.
Qualifications
- Graduate with a diploma in Industrial/Communication Technician, Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology or a similar discipline and/or 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands‑on experience maintaining multiple electronic systems such as:
- Security – intrusion detection systems, CCTV, alarm systems, etc.
- Communication – public address systems, intercom systems, telephone systems, etc.
- Operational – access control systems, key management systems, etc.
- Must have at least 2 years of experience in the past 5 years managing a team of at least two people directly reporting to you.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, sound judgment in complex technical situations, and ability to seek advice when uncertain.
- Must hold or be eligible to obtain and maintain a Federal Government Enhanced Reliability Clearance (Level 1). ADGA will process clearances for successful candidates.
- Must hold or be willing to obtain CompTIA A+ and Network+ certifications. ADGA will sponsor candidates who do not hold these certifications.
- Work experience in heights (fall arrest), first aid, confined space, and WHMIS is considered a strong asset.
