Job description
Summary:Reporting directly to the Senior Superintendent and/or Project manager, the Superintendent is responsible for the supervision of construction sites and for ensuring that site conditions comply with code and health and safety regulations. He/she implements all phases of the project with accurate and thorough documentation and performs all the tasks required to keep the project on track. The superintendent is responsible for ensuring quality and on-time delivery of projects, for maintaining ongoing communication with team members, for supervising all construction activities on site, and for promoting standards of best practice. The superintendent is the main point of contact on the site and is key to ensuring the successful and timely completion of the projects at hand. Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of employees and subcontractors on the site, resolve issues of daily field reports and RFIs, provide technical guidance, and act as a resource person on the site.
  • Monitor and ensure site conditions are in compliance with health and safety code and regulations, cleanliness and orderliness.
  • Conduct inspections as required per local jurisdiction.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, specifications, and project schedule.
  • Participate and coordinate site meetings and safety meetings.
  • Perform all tasks required on site to ensure the success of the project, such as site coordination and updating of required documents, preparing progress reports, and communicating updates to clients.
  • Maintain constant communication with the project manager, team members, subcontractors, and site personnel.
Qualifications:
  • BAC or DEC in engineering, architecture, interior design, construction technology or related education.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years experience in construction, public works, or other related experience.
  • Excellent understanding of the procedures, duties and responsibilities of a construction superintendent.
  • Experience and knowledge of the public works and institutional market is an asset.
  • Master the reading of plans and specifications.
  • Ability to manage several projects at one time, changing priorities, and tight timelines.
  • Professional working proficiency in both English and French (spoken and written).
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, MS Project, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and Procore (Project Management Software) is considered an asset.

Surintendant Résumé:Sous la responsabilité directe du Surintendant senior et/ou du gérant de projet, le Surintendant est chargé de superviser les chantiers de construction et de veiller à ce que les conditions du site soient conformes au code et aux réglementations en matière de santé et de sécurité. Il met en œuvre toutes les phases du projet en s'appuyant sur une documentation précise et complète et exécute toutes les tâches nécessaires pour maintenir le projet sur la bonne voie. Le surintendant est chargé d'assurer la qualité et le respect des délais de livraison des projets, de maintenir une communication permanente avec les membres de l'équipe, de superviser toutes les activités de construction sur le chantier et de promouvoir les normes de bonnes pratiques. Le surintendant est le principal point de contact sur le chantier et joue un rôle clé dans la réussite et l'achèvement des projets dans les délais impartis. Responsabilités:
  • Superviser et coordonner le travail des employés et des sous-traitants sur le site, résoudre les problèmes liés aux rapports quotidiens sur le terrain et aux demandes de renseignements, fournir des conseils techniques et agir en tant que personne-ressource sur le site.
  • Contrôler et veiller à ce que les conditions du site soient conformes au code et aux réglementations en matière de santé et de sécurité, ainsi qu'à la propreté et à l'ordre.
  • Effectuer les inspections requises par la juridiction locale.
  • Veiller au respect des normes de qualité, des spécifications et du calendrier du projet.
  • Participer aux réunions de chantier et aux réunions de sécurité et les coordonner.
  • Effectuer toutes les tâches requises sur le site pour assurer la réussite du projet, telles que la coordination du site et la mise à jour des documents requis, la préparation des rapports d'avancement et la communication des mises à jour aux clients.
  • Maintenir une communication constante avec le chef de projet, les membres de l'équipe, les sous-traitants et le personnel du site.
Qualifications:
  • BAC ou DEC en ingénierie, architecture, architecture d'intérieur, technologie de la construction ou formation connexe.
  • Minimum de 3 à 5 ans d'expérience dans le domaine de la construction, des travaux publics ou dans un domaine connexe.
  • Excellente compréhension des procédures, des tâches et des responsabilités d'un surintendant de la construction.
  • L'expérience et la connaissance du marché des travaux publics et des institutions constituent un atout.
  • Maîtrise de la lecture des plans et des spécifications.
  • Capacité à gérer plusieurs projets en même temps, des priorités changeantes et des délais serrés.
  • Maîtrise professionnelle de l'anglais et du français (parlé et écrit).
  • Maîtrise de la suite Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, MS Project, Outlook).

La connaissance d'AutoCAD et de Procore (logiciel de gestion de projet) est considérée comme un atout.
