THE ROLE:

In this high-profile role, you will be the overall program leader for key engineering initiatives from concept to execution. You will work across all of engineering and business to meet overall initiative and/or product objectives. As a strategic operator and trusted advisor to the Firmware leadership team, this role drives execution, alignment, and organizational effectiveness across a complex, multi-program firmware portfolio. This is a high-impact role for a systems thinker who thrives at the intersection of technology, strategy, and people.

THE PERSON:

The right candidate will have solid knowledge of technical program management, an outstanding track record of delivering sophisticated software/hardware programs, youwill also drive analysis and initiatives for business planning towards growth that align to business strategy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Translate Firmware organizational strategy into actionable plans, milestones, and operating mechanisms
  • Establish and run the firmware operating cadence (staff meetings, business reviews, quarterly planning, retrospectives)
  • Track and drive execution against top priorities, KPIs, and commitments
  • Identify execution risks early and surface trade-offs and options to leadership
  • Serve as a thought partner to the Firmware leader on strategy, org design, prioritization, and change management
  • Prepare executive-level materials (briefs, narratives, reviews) for senior leadership and cross-functional forums
  • Facilitate decision-making by framing issues, synthesizing inputs, and driving clarity
  • Support organizational planning including headcount, skills strategy, succession planning, and talent reviews
  • Drive clarity in roles, ownership, and accountability across firmware and partner teams
  • Champion continuous improvement in processes, execution discipline, and communication
  • Lead high-priority, time-bound initiatives on behalf of the Firmware leader
  • Support transformation efforts (new operating models, tooling, methodologies, AI, or scale initiatives)
  • Act as an extension of the Firmware leader during periods of growth, change, or complexity
  • The successful candidate must also plan for risks in the development path, identify prevention methods, and address them to save on engineering costs
  • Being comfortable working with senior executives is a hard requirement. You must address the needs and requirements called upon from AMD's Engineering, Product Management and Customer Engineering organizations

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in semiconductors, systems, platforms, or embedded environments
  • Good understanding of requirements management, documentation management, and defect management
  • Ability to grasp concepts during discussions and turn minutes into action items
  • Able to communicate concepts and processes with stakeholders
  • Analytical, self-motivated, organized, detailed-oriented and results-oriented
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work well with multiple people and teams, ability to communicate progress to team members on a regular basis
  • Experience working in a high-pressure environment and competing priorities and tight turnaround times
  • Engineering background preferred
  • Experience with Excel, PowerBI, AI Tools, Microsoft Project, JIRA, Confluence and Excel is an asset
  • Experience with Agile methodology
