Our major apparel import client seeks an additional 'Product Manager'
Reporting to Director of Supply Chain
Job Summary
This is a pivotal position within the Supply Chain Department. The incumbent will have a portfolio of styles and must work autonomously to ensure that supply is available to meet customer orders according to established metrics. To collaborate with Sales to provide input into the forecast and issue purchase orders in a timely manner to meet customer demand and inventory turnover targets. To provide effective communication tools and information to Sales to ensure customer confidence.
Major Responsibilities
I. Using the sales forecast and set inventory targets generate purchase orders for assigned styles in a timely rummer (120 days for new and 90 days for ongoing products) in order to achieve order fill rate targets of95% complete and on time delivery within 48 hours. Anticipate demand in order to effectively replenish inventory to ensure customer satisfaction and ultimate revenues.
2.To provide leadership and effectively communicate with our agents to ensure our vendors meet all delivery, quality, and cost commitments. To assist the Supply Chain Director to drive a mutually rewarding partnership with our agents ensuring that the Import Sourcing Strategies are met.
3.The purchase orders must be followed by tracking deliveries to the warehouse. There are transportation accountability and collaboration with the Customs team to ensure goods are accurately expedited into inventory.
4.To collaborate with sales to provide input to drive an effective forecast to meet customer demand. This will be achieved through historical data, market intelligence, causal data, etc.
5.To ensure that 3 months of active purchase orders are generated followed up with a 3-month garment projection by style to meet our partnership agreements with the vendors. This information is vital to ensure all raw materials are either procured or projected in a timely manner by the vendor.
6.To follow the daily / monthly Product Management calendar ensuring air shipments, splits and delays are generated as needed.
7.To follow up on the Daily Back Order report to ensure necessary actions are taken by the appropriate individuals to ensure customer orders are responded to and filled in as required. To collaborate with sales to reduce back orders to meet and exceed performance metrics.
8.To provide effective communication to sales and customer service by ensuring that the Momentis system is always updated and provide exception reports on changes.
9.To be responsible for updated vendor price lists that include pricing, terms, effective dates, ensuring that they are disseminated on a timely basis to finance to ensure LCs are set up in a timely manner and terms are clearly communicated.
l0. To issue purchase orders in a timely manner for salesman samples and follow up accordingly to ensure delivery dates are met.
11.To build macros as required to automate MS Excel spreadsheets to enhance work processes, accuracy and timeliness of information.

Must have excellent understanding of forecasting, planning and inventory management, MRP, apparel manufacturing, and supply chain management processes in general.
Must possess a strong understanding of the import business, especially as it relates to the apparel industry.
Must be a proactive individual with strong customer focus.
Must have excellent communication and rigorous follow up skills.
Must be exceptional at building and maintaining relationships in order to motivate om suppliers to execute with
excellence.
Must be dynamic with the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment
Ability to prioritize accountabilities and multitask to ensure business continuity and mitigate risk
Must have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop and recommend contingencies as needed
Must be tenacious and drive continuous improvement and best practices
Must be extremely organized, self-motivated, and embrace a team environment
Must have Visual Basic for Application skills specifically related to Excel
Must be highly proficient with software applications and general PC skills

Education / Experience
Must have PMAC or CAPIC certificate
Post secondary diploma or degree in Business Management or education related to Apparel industry
5 years’ experience in the field of Product Management preferably in the Apparel industry at a senior level
