Job Description

Responsible for developing and modifying IT Systems Software (i.e. software for use in operating/controlling hardware and providing a platform for running internal end user/business applications). The work includes:
Identifying and analyzing business needs conducting requirements gathering and defining scope and objectives for the IT System
Performing feasibility studies to develop software such as databases operating systems networks and utilities for hardware compatibility
Writing code in lower-level programming languages and translating/compiling into machine language for use on specific hardware
Supporting systems software testing deployment and maintenance activities by correcting programming errors and coding systems software enhancements.
Positions on this level requires basic knowledge of job procedures and tools obtained through work experience and may require vocational or basic technical education. Requires moderate supervision. Can solve routine issues independently with occasional deviations or improvement to standard procedures.
