Dalhousie Security Services is a diverse and inclusive team of public safety professionals that collaborates with students, staff, and faculty to build a safer and more connected campus experience. Security Services believes that students are the most important part of our campus, promoting an inclusive, holistic, and client-centric approach to personal safety and security while being a resource in the delivery of reassurance, education, and support of referral initiatives. Reporting to the Director of Security, through the Assistant Director, Operations Manager and Security Patrol Managers, the Security Officer acts as a patrol level security officer, whose primary goal is to offer assistance, document the interaction, and exercise discretion in relation to university and Security Services matters.

Due to operational requirements, the successful applicant is required to work in-person on campus.
Officers work a block of rotating 12-hour shifts: two dayshifts followed by two nightshifts and four days off.
Successful applicants will be required to complete a criminal record check, vulnerable sector check, and provide a drivers abstract.
