IPS is seeking dedicated Office and Administrative staff to be the backbone of our innovative team. At IPS, we know that great ideas and groundbreaking projects rely on exceptional support behind the scenes. Your professional growth and development are our priority, so your opportunities here are unlimited. We care for our team members, offering a comprehensive benefits package, work-life balance, and job stability. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment where you will be recognized and appreciated, you would be a great fit at IPS.

Responsibilities & Expectations:

The Buyer & Quality Control Specialist plays a critical role in supporting an electronics repair operation by owning all purchasing activities and ensuring quality standards across incoming materials, repaired units, and warranty returns.

This role is responsible for sourcing and controlling everything required to run the business day-to-day — from electronic components to stockroom and maintenance supplies — while providing strong inventory discipline and quality oversight for industrial and renewable energy electronics.

  • Purchasing & Inventory Management
    • Manage all purchasing activities, including electronic components, repair parts, stockroom items, and consumables
    • Raise, receive, and reconcile purchase orders (POs)
    • Coordinate the distribution of parts to repair benches, stockrooms, and work areas
    • Work directly with suppliers and distributors across China, the USA, and Europe
    • Negotiate pricing, lead times, Minium Order Quantity, and quantity-based discounts
    • Develop and maintain demand forecasts based on repair volumes and failure trends
    • Maintain organized, ESD-safe inventory rooms and storage areas
    • Control surplus, slow-moving, and obsolete stock, including inventory held in external storage
    • Perform regular cycle counts, stock checks, and inventory reconciliations
    • Proactively minimize repair downtime caused by part shortages, long lead-time items, or inventory inaccuracies
  • Quality Control & Warranty Support
    • Conduct quality audits on repaired units to verify workmanship, functionality, and compliance with internal standards
    • Support incoming inspection of electronic components and assemblies
    • Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) for new, alternate, or revised parts
    • Review and manage PPAP-style supplier approval documentation where applicable
    • Ensure parts meet electrical, mechanical, and environmental requirements before release for repair use
    • Support failure analysis and root cause investigations for repeat or critical defects
    • Lead deep-dive analysis of warranty claims to identify trends and systemic issues
    • Prepare quality, failure, and warranty reports for internal review and customer communication
    • Interface with customers on quality findings, corrective actions, and repair reliability
    • Work with suppliers and internal teams to implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Experience in electronic component purchasing and indirect procurement
  • Strong negotiation skills across pricing, terms, and supply agreements
  • Understanding of electronics repair environments and quality expectations
  • Experience with First Article Inspection and supplier approval processes
  • Ability to interpret datasheets, schematics, BOMs, and test results
  • Strong inventory control and reconciliation skills
  • High attention to detail with disciplined documentation practices
  • Proficient with ERP systems, inventory tools, and Microsoft Excel
  • Exposure to PPAP, supplier quality management, or structured CAPA processes preferred
  • Experience analyzing warranty, failure, or cost trends in a repair or manufacturing environment preferred
