Wage Rate: $34.24 to $37.29plus $2.95/hr pension and 11.5% vacation pay with increases starting May 2026.

Chew Excavating focusing on bulk excavations, road works, underground utilities, subdivisions and developments along with demolition, deconstruction, and hazardous material removal.
We have an immediate opening for an experienced pipelayer to join our team in Victoria, British Columbia. If you are a Pipelayer with at least 1 year experience as a pipelayer in civil construction, or an experienced civil labourer, with proven experience, wanting to work your way into becoming a Pipelayer through training and mentorship, we would love to hear from you.
Chew Excavating provides opportunities to work within multiple divisions throughout the company and the security of several long-term contracts already secured with the BC Hydro and the federal government. Applicants should becapable of shooting grades for pipe installation as well as prep for hard surfacing including using rotary and pipe lasers. Must be familiar working in varying conditions seen in civil construction while working with, testing, and laying pipe for different utilities including sewer, storm, and water mains as well as conduit for street lighting, BC Hydro, Telus and Shaw communications duct.
