Job Title: CNC Machinist

Job Description

Join a dynamic team dedicated to producing custom automation systems. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for machining weldments and small complex parts primarily using 4 and 5 axis machines. This role involves working on unique parts with small production runs, requiring precision and attention to detail. You will operate using Fanuc and Hurco controllers, with programming executed in MasterCam. The ability to program independently and collaboratively is a valuable asset.

Responsibilities

• Machining weldments and small complex parts using 4 and 5 axis machines.
• Work from blueprints, engineered drawings, and other specifications.
• Perform first-offs and small production runs with precision.
• Program and operate CNC machines using G code and M code.
• Utilize existing programs and develop new programs when necessary.
• Select tools and set offsets for machining operations.

Essential Skills

• Certificate of Qualification as a machinist or 5+ years of experience as a CNC Machinist.
• Experience with first-offs, offsets, and tool selection.
• Proficiency in programming using G code and M code.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Knowledge of Fanuc and Hurco controllers.
• Experience operating CNC mills, lathes, and routers.
• Strong oral communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Team-oriented mindset with the ability to participate actively and safely in group meetings.

Work Environment

Work at a well-equipped machine shop located in Cambridge, where you will be part of a skilled team of about 50 machinists. This facility produces most of the parts for final assembly, providing a collaborative and engaging environment for machinists to thrive.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cambridge, ON.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $40.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
