Board of Directors - Volunteer

Family Futures Resource Network (FFRN) is seeking a committed and community‑focused individual to serve as a Volunteer Board Member. FFRN is a non‑profit dedicated to strengthening individuals and families through connection, support, and education to help create a better future.

This is a volunteer governance position. The Board of Directors is responsible for overseeing the affairs of the organization at the highest level and setting its long‑term direction through clearly defined strategic objectives. Board members carry a fiduciary responsibility to act in good faith and in the best interests of the organization at all times.

The Board is currently seeking an individual who has a strong governance track record. Some experience in social work, human resources, legal and accounting would be an asset.

Your success will be defined by your ability to:
  • Provide governance‑level oversight and contribute to setting the organization's long‑term strategic direction
  • Act in good faith and in the best interests of the organization while fulfilling fiduciary responsibilities
  • Participate actively in board and committee meetings and engage in informed decision‑making
  • Offer professional expertise, insight, and guidance to the Board and Executive Director
  • Serve on and, when appropriate, lead board sub‑committees
  • Support strategic priorities related to program growth, workforce sustainability, and community engagement
  • Attend organizational events to remain connected to the agency's work and impact
Your strengths include:
  • Experience serving on boards or in governance‑focused roles
  • Professional background in areas such as social work, human services, legal, accounting, policing, or governance
  • Strong strategic thinking, ethical judgment, and collaborative decision‑making skills
  • Commitment to strengthening individuals, families, and communities
  • Willingness to dedicate time and expertise in a volunteer capacity
