Full Stack Architect - Investment Management

As a Full Stack Architect in our Investment Management space, you will lead next generation platform architecture, champion cloud-native and event driven patterns, and modernize a cloud/distributed/mainframe ecosystem to deliver scalable, secure solutions for our mutual funds, GIC's and registered product experience.

CUSTOMER

• Apply a multi-disciplinedexpertisewith database, application, client tiers, layering of software, build, test and deploy strategiesin order tocreate the overall design of software (including applications, infrastructure, middleware) and guide how the sub-components are developed by different teams

• Advise on suitability of technology stacks to define principles / key constraints for solution components; rallies the team around these principles todeterminesecurity / scalability approach, and impact assessments for future design

• Collaborates with Practices, actively driving capability creation; mentoring and training junior colleagues to be adaptive, staying on top ofexpanding technologies and engineering trendsand creating highly visual and functional solutions

SHAREHOLDER

• Set service-levelobjectives(SLO) and exercise key decision rights of the FSA role

• Focus on reliability, scalability, and the development of the architectural infrastructure; includinghighly complexand scalable systems​

• Lead interaction with governance and control groups, (e.g.regulatory / operational risk,complianceand audit) to provide subject matterexpertiseand consult on risk issues related to architectural technology and tools

• Monitor and report on the status of the products / projects and applications within assigned product, ensuring projects are compliant with technology domain architecture, and designs /operatesprocesses to provide ongoing review of in-progress activity against technology architecture and development standards

• Foresee architectural issues / gaps andidentifiesemerging industry trends to recommend value-added architectural improvements that will alleviate technology debt and build resilient solutions

• Maps processes and sub-processes that bridge the gap between business problems and technology solutions

• Collaborates within practices, platforms or journeyscomprisedof diverse and complementary skills; inspiring the team to embrace changes and continually advance collective knowledge of technical tools / trends

• Protect the interests of the organization –identifyand manage risks, and escalate non-standard,high riskactivities as necessary

• Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts

• Seasoned individual contributor role with expert knowledge of specific enterprise and/or functional domain(s) and a demonstratedtrack recordworking with a broad range of architecture frameworks, technology, tools,processesand procedures

• Big-picture thinker, with ability toanticipatearchitectural gaps andidentifyemerging trends through both advanced business acumen and highly specialized technical knowledge of TD and its applications, programming languages, industry best practices, Bank standards,infrastructureand architectural design / solutions

• Architect assigned to work autonomously on high profile, complex and/or high-risk technology projects with significant impact to the organization

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

• Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate (Graduate degree preferred)

• 10+ years relevantarchitectureexperience developing a variety of platforms

• Expertisein designingcloudnativesolutions across Azure and hybridmulticloudenvironments,

• Experience withevent drivenandAPI-firstarchitectures, including Kafka or equivalent platforms and the design of secure, scalable APIs

• Realtime orchestration and decoupled interaction across distributed systems.

• Expertisein shapingtargetstatearchitectures, reference models, roadmaps, and modernization journeys.

• Experience with distributed and mainframe architecturesoperatingalongsidecloudnativeand vendorplatforms.

• Experience with AI and its potential to enhancedecisionmaking, automation, and business value.

• Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, infrastructureascode, and secure deployment pipelines.

• Architecture experiencerelated toplatform conversions

• Familiarity with Investment Management products—such as mutual funds, GICs, RRSPs, and investment savings accounts—is an asset and supports stronger alignment with our platform ecosystem.
