Machine Labourer

We are seeking an experienced Machine Labourer to join our team. This is a vital, hands-on position where your expertise in warehousing will directly ensure the efficiency and accuracy of our daily distribution. - Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7am-3:30pm
- Location: Scarborough, ON (transit accessible)
- Work Type: Contract with potential to turn permanent


Responsibilities
- Clean, sand, and mask varied surfaces (like motors and chassis) to ensure they are ready for a high-quality paint finish.
- Operate industrial sandblasters to remove rust, grease, old paint, and dirt from metal parts.
- Manage air pressure and grit flow to effectively clean parts without damaging the metal underneath.
- Refill abrasive materials in hoppers and monitor levels to keep the cleaning process running smoothly.
- Manually lift and position heavy equipment onto racks or into blasting cabinets using safe lifting techniques.
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery, including cleaning equipment and swapping out worn nozzles.
- Keep the work area organized and immediately report any safety hazards to the supervisor.
- Assist with general labor and other tasks as needed to help the manufacturing and logistics teams.

Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience in metal finishing or sandblasting.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs regularly.
- Dedication to completing tasks safely and following all safety standards and regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Bilingualism in French and English is an asset.
